Safety tips
Before you meet
- Ask the seller for the motorcycle's papers and check that the name on them matches the seller, or that the seller can show they are allowed to sell it.
- Be careful when a price is much lower than similar ads, or when the seller says they are abroad, in a hurry, or can only "ship" the motorcycle.
- Keep the conversation by phone or WhatsApp. Never share your Motseko sign-in code. Motseko staff will never ask for it.
When you see the motorcycle
- Meet in a busy public place during the day, and bring someone with you if you can.
- Check that the frame and engine numbers match the papers.
- If you take a test ride, wear a helmet and agree on it with the seller first.
- If you are not sure about its condition, ask a mechanic you trust to look at it.
Paying and transferring ownership
- Pay only after you have seen the motorcycle and its papers. Never send a deposit in advance.
- Motseko does not handle payments, deposits, delivery or ownership transfer. Anyone who says they are paying or holding money "through Motseko" is not telling the truth.
- Complete the ownership transfer through the official vehicle registration process, and keep copies of the papers.
If something feels wrong
Stop, and report the ad or the seller from the app. You can also write to support@motseko.app. If you are in danger or have been the victim of a crime, contact the police.
